The Constitution, Purpose and Organisation of the People’s Bank Party

Constitution

The name of the party shall be the People's Bank Party (hereinafter referred to as 'the Party').

The purpose of the Party and its principal and unchangeable policy is to bring about the reform of the Australian monetary system so as to abolish the power of the private banking system to create money for private profit and to invest that power in the national government for the benefit of all Australians.

The principal and unchangeable policy of the Party shall be explained as in itself tackling the majority of economic, social, environmental, educational, medical and other problems that are generally presented to government for solution.

Membership of the Party shall be open to anyone who advocates the principal and unchangeable policy of the Party and adheres to the constitution of the Party.

The Party shall not present itself or its principal and unchangeable policy as being left-wing or right-wing or aligned with or opposed to any particular political ideology.

The colours adopted by the Party shall be green and gold and its emblem shall be a kangaroo.

The Purpose of the Party

It will be seen within the constitution of the Party that there is no scope for discussing or changing the principal and unchangeable policy that is the purpose of the Party. This is deliberate and reflects the purpose for which the Party was created.

The purpose of the Party is to bring about the reform of the Australian monetary system so as to abolish the power of the private banking system to create money for private profit and to invest that power in the national government for the benefit of all Australians. This will be achieved by bringing to the attention of the Australian people, through the electoral and any other legal process, the problems caused by the present debt-based money system and the solution of these problems by the issue of government-created money.

To present other policies, at this stage in the life of the Party, in conjunction with the principal and unchangeable policy stated in the Party's Constitution would invite people to reject the Party’s message over issues which are secondary to the Party’s purpose. Furthermore such additional policies would dilute the Party's message. When the Party becomes a viable political force consideration will be given to the formulation of policies compatible with the principal and unchangeable policy of the Party.

The Party is not intended to be a forum for policy discussion. It is intended to be a platform for those convinced of the need to abolish the present debt-based money system and replace it with one based upon government-created debt free money.

Membership is invited amongst those convinced of the need for the Party's principal and unchangeable policy and who wish to spread the word to their fellow citizens. Membership is not invited of those not so convinced.

Organisation

The Party is not currently registered as a political party with the Federal Electoral Commission. The Party’s first objective is to attract 500 members so that it may become so registered. It will then be able to field candidates standing under its name in Federal Senate and House of Representatives elections.

At this early stage of the Party’s existence the roles of national leader, treasurer and nominations officer, are fulfilled by the Party founder. A more democratic system will be introduced as time goes by. Hopefully we will soon have a real democracy in Australia also, instead of the two party system which pretends to be democratic but which gives no other choice than rule by the puppets of International Bankers and their associated Multi-National Corporations.

It is envisaged that most of the Party's activities will be undertaken at a local level, by individual Party members taking the message to their locality. Any Party member may adopt a particular area, as their area of campaigning if they so wish. They will be named as the 'Co-ordinator' for that area. Members not wishing to take a lead in campaigning will be given the name and contact details of their nearest Co-ordinators.

Members living in geographically close proximity will be made aware of each other. The extent to which they wish to work together will be a matter for their own mutual arrangement.

The Party will hold annual national and state conferences centred around methods of bringing the Party’s message to the electorate. Local meetings will be organised centred around methods of bringing the Party’s message to the local electorate. As the Party has not registered any independent auditing units with the Electoral Commission, all moneys handled by local groups must be reported to the Party treasurer for recording with the Electoral Commission.

All members wishing to stand for election will need to get written authority from the nominations officer in order to stand as Party candidates.

Members wishing to stand as candidates will be responsible for paying their deposit and any other election expenses. These expenses will need to be reported to the Party treasurer every week during the course of an election.
